Locksmiths for Business Premises in Cape Town

Urban City Locksmith looks after the doors a business depends on — shopfronts, office suites, storerooms, plant rooms and the shared entrances of mixed-use blocks throughoutCape Town. A good share of that work sits inside buildings run by a body corporate or a managing agent, so we are used to booking access in advance, working around trading hours, and leaving communal doors exactly as we found them.

Every job starts with the same question: does this door have to keep working with the keys already in circulation, or is it time to break away from them? We quote on the answer rather than on a fixed package, and the figure you hear on site is the figure on the invoice.

Masterkeys: Who Gets Through Which Door

Once a building has more doors than one person can sensibly carry keys for, a masterkey system is the cure. We map the doors first — street entrance, suites, storeroom, roof access, meter room — and then chart the key levels, so a cleaner opens the corridor and nothing else while a manager opens the lot. The chart matters more than the hardware: get it right and you can add a tenant, or retire a lost key, without recutting the building.

Locked out of your premises, or need a system charted? We answer commercial calls across Cape Town day and night.

Hardware Brought to You and Fitted

We bring the lock to the premises and fit it there, cut to your current key wherever the door has to stay on the existing system. Commercial hardware gets chosen on how hard it is used rather than on how it looks: a storeroom door opened all day needs a cylinder rated for that traffic, and an aluminium shopfront needs hardware made for that frame. When the cheaper option will do the job we say so, and when it is going to fail early we say that too.

Where Our Vans Reach

Mobile technicians get to business premises throughout Cape Town, and the workshop at Parklands North, Cape Town handles key cutting and system charting between call-outs. Locks rarely fail at a convenient hour, so the emergency line stays open — a seized strongroom door on a Sunday gets the same answer as a Monday morning.
